Showcasing Your Love thru Stressful Times

April 15, 2020

There is so much chaos going on in the world. It’s a stressful time. Everyone is looking for hope. What’s better than providing that hope to all your friends and family? To share with your friends and family the love story that brought together two hearts uniting them into one?

We have compromised a list of how to tackle the overwhelming stress tactics and compromised some tips to have your wedding be the talk of the town.

1. Choose What Is More Important to You & Start There.

What are the top three things that are most important to you on your wedding day? Write out a list of what you are most excited about and focus on the top three most important things with your significant other. Share that information with your vendors. Focus on those things and do something for each item on the list, one at a time. By taking your time on each item you will ensure that they will be done to the best of your ability. Your guests will be happy to share in those wonderful experiences with you.

2. Set Realistic Timeframes to Accomplish Each Task.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. The same will go for your wedding planning. Be sure not to fall into the trap of procrastinating. Create a timeline and stick with it. Choose a major task and give yourself a realistic amount of time to fulfill that task. Plan a little extra time for unforeseen circumstances. Also ensure you plan to do something special for yourself in the times of those major tasks that you don’t want to accomplish. Plan for a spa day or a special date night. Maybe find a way to incorporate your wedding party into helping you do the mundane work and make it into a game

3. Create an Inspiration Board.

Talk with your soon to be spouse about what you want your wedding to look like. Walk away from the computer, the pinterest and instagram apps, wedding magazines and everything else.  Look back through photos of the two of you and focus on some of your favorite memories. Utilize aspects of what made those memories special to create an inspiration board. Then you can take those things and find a way to showcase it to your guests. Was it the season? Was it the feelings? Were there costumes or food that stood out to you that maybe you can incorporate and share with your guests? This will allow for you to refresh and stay focused on your wedding planning.

4. Pump up the Music!

There are a lot of songs to choose for your wedding. If you start to feel overwhelmed create a dance party with your bridal party and listen to a variety of music that you may want to use for your special dances. You may come across one that the lyrics scream out to you and you realize that’s YOUR song! And if that doesn’t work for you then turn your dance party into a night of exercise- go to the beach with your friends where you can enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk, or a swim in the refreshing cool water, or choose to play beach volleyball or any other fun sport. These are all great ways to hype up your body with exercise. The energy will pump you up and keep you going.

5. Outsource those Overwhelming Tasks!

Your friends and family want to be involved in your wedding. Feel free to take things off your plate by designating your to-do’s to your loved ones. This will allow for you to focus on other aspects that are more fun for you. It also allows for your every day life chores to get done and can be created into a fun activity for you and your future spouse. Go grocery shopping together and grab foods that you can cook together. This will allow for your love to grow even more as you will be able to handle the stress much better.

6. Focus on the Fun!

If you would like to go dress shopping or look for the extras such as guest books, champagne flutes or special custom ordered favors then go for it! Bring with you whichever friends or family members will make the experience more enjoyable. Then invite the rest of your family and friends to a brunch to discuss what decisions were made. They will feel more involved and it will become a great bonding experience.

7. Tread Lightly.

After taking a hiatus from planning it can often be overwhelming to jump back into the water at full speed. Instead, create more manageable steps allowing for you to tackle one piece at a time. One example we can use is creating the seating chart. You can break this up over a four-week period. The first week you can take some time to design the chart layout. Following that you may want to consider might creating different colors for each guest category. The third week would entail writing each person's name on a flag based on his or her color category and lastly during the final week you can decide where you want to place each person on the poster board.

8. Call the Experts!

There are many vendors who would happily help you out to figure out when you should get things done and what are the best ways to do so. Your DJ will gladly give you suggestions on songs and your photographer can give you ideas of what family shots are normally taken. If you are unsure of where to go, what to do or when things are supposed to get done it’s always a great idea to speak to your wedding planner. We are experts in our field and can help you process thru all the anxieties that can come with the territory. It doesn’t matter how far you are into the wedding planning or how many contracts you have signed- it can be very easy to get off course.  Let us help you reorganize your thoughts, remove the fears and help make the process fun again.

9. 1,2,3 Connect 4!

1 special day shared by the love of 2 people. There’s nothing more special than the connection you have. So every 3 weeks make sure you have a special date night planned. You can do something like a romantic night out or you can do something simple like play a board game. There are classic games you can play with just the two of you utilizing a deck of cards, guess who (trade out the names of your family and friends), twister and connect 4. These little traditions that you do allows for you to keep the connection and fun with your partner so that you never have to worry about life getting in the way.

10. Look at the Love of Your Life.

Remind yourself of why you are getting married. Write down the reasons you want to spend the rest of your life with your fiancé. Spend a few minutes to write down your best memories and your dreams together. Put these thoughts into a love letter that you can share with your spouse-to-be. After the wedding it won’t matter what flowers were picked, what music played, the type of food that was served- what will matter is the expression of your love for one another and that you got to share it with your friends and family.
